Some of the events in and around San Antonio this week are as follows:
*The Fall Grasses Seasonal Walk is on Saturday, 9/28 from 8:00 am – 10:00 am at Phil Hardberger Park West. This is a tour of 1 1/2 miles of trails in the Phil Hardberger Park led by Floyd Waller, PhD.
*Volunteer Day at Medina River Natural Area is on Saturday, 9/28 at 8:00 am. If you’d like to volunteer your morning helping clean up the Medina River Natural Area, they would love to have your help!
*The Pumpkin Patch opens at Northwest Hills United Methodist Church on Saturday, 9/28 at 9:00 am. It will be open from 9:00 am – 9:00 pm through October 31st.
*Native Plant Walk is on Saturday, 9/28 at 10:00 am at the San Antonio Botanical Garden, where you can go enjoy a walk through the garden and see all the native plant life that is there.
*YMCA Siclovia is on Sunday, 9/29 from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm at the Lions Field Park – this free event will turn Broadway (near downtown) into a car-free zone, so you and your family can ride bikes and play in the street.
*Swing Nite and The Rollfast Ramblers – Monday, 9/30 at Sam’s Burger Joint. Get swing dance lessons from 7:00 – 8:00 pm, and stay for the show and dancing starting at 8:30 pm.
*Show Me The Energy! – Wednesday, 10/2 at Phil Hardberger Park – for children ages 3-7, where they discover how all animals, including people, depend on plants as their food source. They will learn about food chains and habitats as well. Reservations are required for this free event.
*Rockin’ Reptiles – Thursday, 10/3 at 3:00 pm at the San Antonio Children’s Museum – introduce your children to some new fun reptile friends that call the San Antonio Children’s Museum home!
*Les Miserables – Thursday, 10/3 at 8:00 pm at The Playhouse San Antonio. This production is playing through November 3rd, with performances on Friday and Saturday nights at 8:00 pm, and Sundays at 3:00 pm. The final Sunday will have a performance at 3:00 pm and one again at 8:00 pm.
*Tent Sale of Books – will be from Friday 10/4 – Sunday, 10/6 at the San Antonio Central Library. Thousands of books, CDs and audio books will be on sale to support the local library programs.
